XenogyRE is a clean energy blog with primary interest in renewable energy and energy efficiency development in the Caribbean. We strive to sensitize the general public on the importance of energy and its sustainability to our long-term economic and ecological survival. The word Xenogy was coined from the Greek word “Xeno“, which means strange or other (as in this case), and “Energy“. Thus promoting the use of other forms (clean) of energy.

The blog is the brainchild of Courtney Powell who functions both as the primary author and editor for contributed content. Courtney holds a BSc. and MSc. degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of the West Indies and a Post-grad certificate in Power System Protective Relaying from the University of Idaho (USA). He specializes in power system engineering and has a passion for renewable energy and power system economics. He is also the current vice-chair of the IEEE Power and Energy Society Trinidad & Tobago and an active member of the Association of Professional Engineers in Trinidad & Tobago.
