About the author
Courtney Powell
Founder & Author
Courtney is a power systems and renewable energy engineer with over 15 years of experience in an electric utility in the Caribbean. His work spans grid planning, distribution automation, electric vehicle charging infrastructure and the integration of renewable energy into island power systems.
He holds MSc and BSc degrees in electrical and computer engineering from The University of the West Indies. He is a registered engineer in Trinidad and Tobago and a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and the Association of Professional Engineers of Trinidad and Tobago (APETT).
Since 2016 he has been a part-time lecturer at The UWI St. Augustine, teaching Electrical Integration of Renewables (RENT6008) in the MSc in Renewable Energy Technology. From 2016 to 2020 he also lectured Advanced Power System Protection (ECNG6503) and Transformer and Switchgear Technology (ECNG6509). He is the founder, main author and editor of XenogyRE.
