The Petroleum Corporation of Jamaica (PCJ) makes yet another momentous contribution to the development of RE (Renewable Energy) in Jamaica. PCJ officially announced, on February 3, 2013, that it will make available to interested parties an extensive range of RE data via its website (www.pcj.com).
The data includes scientific and analytical information on Jamaica’s renewable energy potential. The studies published so far date back as far as the 1970’s and cover several areas including hydro, wind, bio-fuels, biomass and solar.
PCJ’s hopes that this information will be valuable to prospective energy suppliers, particularly entities responding to the recent Request for Proposals from the Office of Utilities Regulation (OUR) for the provision of 115 megawatts (MW) of electricity generating capacity from renewable sources.
